The University of the West of Scotland has been delivering innovative education on drug and alcohol use and policy for over 40 years. The Postgraduate Programme in Contemporary Drug & Alcohol Studies examines the social, cultural, and political influences on drug/alcohol use and policies. UWS explore the local, national and global evidence-base for responses that reduce substance use harms and support recovery. As part of their studies, students undertake a work-based placement where they can put their learning into practice. This is a fantastic course for existing practitioners looking to develop their practice and progress their careers, and for people wanting to enter this area of work and research.Â
UWS offer a range of study options – full-time or part-time, online or on campus (Paisley) – and a supportive student-centred learning environment.Â
UWS encourage applications from people who have a degree and/or significant and relevant professional experience. UWS welcome Scottish, UK and international students and consider all applicants on an individual basis.
