Poverty Awareness Training

The strong links between drug and alcohol related harms and poverty, are widely acknowledged, with deprivation being linked as a significant factor in drug and alcohol problems developing (Hard Edges Report and Staying Alive in Scotland).

NLADP, in partnership with the tackling poverty team, are providing free multiagency training sessions. Places are limited with a max of 2 spaces per organisation.  To register your interest and secure a place on this training please email the NLADP@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk

Poverty Awareness Training sessions are designed to raise awareness of the impacts of poverty across North Lanarkshire. During a cost of living crisis, more and more people are affected by increasing fuel and food prices together with interest rates, and these are only somethings that make it very difficult for our residents.  The session will provide you with the tools to be able to signpost and/or make referrals to the tackling poverty team to ensure that we are providing all the support we can to people impacted by poverty.

Health & Social Care North Lanarkshire has signed up to Care Opinion, a website which allows patients to share their stories online.

Care Opinion is an independent, not-for-profit, website that gives patients and carers a way of voicing what they think of the services they receive.

We will listen to positive and negative comments and respond to those in a way that is honest, supportive and constructive.

We will use this feedback to make our services in North Lanarkshire the best they can be.
