My Family My Rights Skill Sessions

Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs are hosting an 11 week course to help families:

  • begin to help understand your Rights and your loved one’s Rights
  • feel more empowered to use your voice in order for you and your family’s Rights to be upheld
  • gain knowledge of advocacy and how to self-advocate on behalf of yourself or others

The sessions provide an understanding of your Rights as a family member. This is a foundation of advocacy knowledge and self-empowerment to begin to understand Rights. Our hope is that with more people knowing their Rights and self-advocating, change will happen.

Weekly sessions will run online via Zoom from 10am – 11.30 starting Wednesday 18th September and running until Wednesday 27th November.  Participants need to be able to attend all 11 weeks of the course.

An optional extra half hour from 11:30-12pm will also be provided to allow a space for people to share experiences or personal examples and access individual support. This will let us focus on the content on the sessions but still provide a safe space that you can share your experiences.

To register your interest and apply for a space on the course please click complete the MS Form

Care Opinion Logo

Health & Social Care North Lanarkshire has signed up to Care Opinion, a website which allows patients to share their stories online.

Care Opinion is an independent, not-for-profit, website that gives patients and carers a way of voicing what they think of the services they receive.

We will listen to positive and negative comments and respond to those in a way that is honest, supportive and constructive.

We will use this feedback to make our services in North Lanarkshire the best they can be.
