Lanarkshire’s Reducing Alcohol Harms groups are supporting this year’s Alcohol Awareness Week. This year’s theme is ‘Alcohol and Work’.
With many people drinking alcohol in ways that can harm our health and wellbeing, from headaches, hangovers and sleepless nights to lower productivity and symptoms like anxiety and depression worsening over time, alcohols affects are far reaching.
But how many of us have stopped to think about the impact of the work we do, and alcohol related risks? With longer hours, more stress, the blurring of lines between work and home, there are so many ways work and alcohol are linked.
So, this Alcohol Awareness Week, join the conversation on the relationship between alcohol and work. Consider exploring staff training around alcohol and drugs, review your organisations workplace policy or simply help share some helpful tips and advice across departments and teams, on how making changes to our drinking can make a big difference in improving our health, productivity and happiness.

There are a number of ways you can support the campaign and help us spread key messages throughout the week:
- Look out for our social media posts and re-share this to help amplify the reach – NLADP will share 2 posts each day via X
- Share information about local events that are taking place and encourage people to go along and have a conversation about alcohol, and the role this can play in people’s lives (all details below)
- Join the conversation and share information in your own team and/or workplace
