My Family My Rights February 2025 Course

THIS IS A 11 WEEK COURSE STARTING 26TH fEB ALL WEEKS TO BE ATTENDED

Do you want to better understand your rights and feel more empowered to advocate for yourself and your loved one? Our My Family My Rights online course is returning in February 2025! This free course is open to anyone in Scotland who is affected by someone else’s substance use.

What is My Family My Rights?

My Family My Rights is a self-advocacy and empowerment course designed to provide a foundation of advocacy knowledge, to help families understand their rights, feel confident using their voice, and drive positive change in their lives.

  • Learn about your rights and those of your loved ones.
  • Feel more empowered to advocate for your family.
  • Gain valuable knowledge on advocacy and self-advocacy.
  • Connect with others in a safe and supportive environment

    Course Details

    • Start Date: Wednesday, February 26, 2025
    • End Date: Wednesday, May 7, 2025
    • Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
    • Format: Online
    • Cost: Free

      Each session runs for 2 hours, with 1.5 hours of course content followed by an optional half-hour for discussion, sharing experiences, and accessing individual support. Weekly materials will be sent out in advance to ensure participants have access to key information when they need it most.

      Week 4: Introduction to Human Rights
      Week 5: Health
      Week 6: Treatment Services
      Week 7: Community, Home, and Finance

      Week 9: Criminal Justice
      Week 10: Carers’ Rights
      Week 11: Case Studies

      Our expression of interest form will be live from Monday, February 3, 2025, and will close on Monday, February 17, 2025, at noon.
