Healthcare Improvement Scotland are pleased to invite you to the ninth webinar session, scheduled for 3 September 2024.
Background and focus: Through our conversations with various stakeholders, Â we increasingly hear and see from the evidence that the MAT Standards should form a way of working, irrespective of substance that has the capacity to apply to not just opiates but also:
- Alcohol
- Benzodiazepines
- Cocaine
- Poly drug use
Further, as substance use patterns change alongside demographics, we are seeing increasing levels of growth in recovery communities, motivated to meet the gap in service provision – offering personalised and tailored advocacy and care. It is in this complex mix we are keen to profile how systems of care promote recovery and offer opportunities for services to grow and respond to the range of needs.
This webinar aims to provide examples of and promote:
- Good practice in response to new demands from stimulants and poly-drug use
- The importance of understanding and investing in recovery.
Speakers will include representatives from the Scottish Police Authority (SPA) on adapting to the changing nature of substance use and harms and also from recovery communities including Community Justice Scotland (CJS) to discuss support and investment in recovery.
