Introduction to Commercial Sexual Exploitation

This free online training session is open to frontline services across Scotland, including but not limited to violence against women, substance use, housing, sexual health, mental health, and criminal justice.

The participant numbers are limited to create an interactive environment which includes small group activities, main group discussion and individual reflection. Together with the facilitator and other attendees, workers will have an opportunity to explore:

  • CSE activities, including the legality of selling or exchanging sex
  • Terminology used to describe women’s involvement in the sex industry
  • Push factors for women’s involvement in the sex trade
  • Signs of involvement in selling or exchanging sex.

It provides a foundation for the future CSE Aware training sessions such as ‘Facilitating disclosures of selling sex’ and ‘Safety strategies for women who sell sex or images’.

Health & Social Care North Lanarkshire has signed up to Care Opinion, a website which allows patients to share their stories online.

Care Opinion is an independent, not-for-profit, website that gives patients and carers a way of voicing what they think of the services they receive.

We will listen to positive and negative comments and respond to those in a way that is honest, supportive and constructive.

We will use this feedback to make our services in North Lanarkshire the best they can be.
