This year’s Alcohol Awareness Week takes place from 1st-7th July and aims to raise awareness of alcohol harms, empower individuals, families and communities to think about alcohol and the harms this might be causing.
Ultimately we want people to think about their drinking and feel able to seek support if they need it for their own or someone else’s drinking.
North Lanarkshire ADP wanted to understand alcohol harms from the perspective of local people. We developed an MS Form survey and 21 local people responded and told us their understanding of alcohol harms. This is detailed in the infographic below:
Alcohol Awareness Week provides a time to campaign for change, and highlight the many and varied harms of alcohol. Throughout the week North Lanarkshire ADP will be supporting aspects of the national Alcohol Change UK campaign, but we are also taking this opportunity to raise awareness of the findings of recent alcohol survey work undertaken across Lanarkshire, which also highlights local harms and attitudes towards alcohol.Â
We are encouraging our partners to get behind the initiative, and share or retweet our social media content via X. #AlcoholAwarenessWeek @AlcoholChangeUK #NorthlanADP
